Nash is a fintech app that makes the power of crypto available to the masses. With the freshly rebranded app Nash offers the easiest way in and out crypto, earning protocols that generate actual interest on savings and other ways to generate passive income. The app makes it easy for users worldwide to take advantage of the underlaying, complex techniques. It's aiming to be the new everyday.

The challenge

Nash was preparing for a big rebranding when the need for a new Lead Designer arose. Redesigning the complete app in the new branding and adding new features was one big challenge but there were challenges on many other levels. Product strategy, design process and way-of-working, design system and organisation and the need to grow the design team to name a few.

With around 35 employees from allover the world, a 5 year proven record and a new experienced and energetic management, Nash is a start-up in scale-up phase. The role of design in this ever changing landscape had to be redefined.

The solution

​

I was hired for 5 months to give a big push on these challenges. I split my time between hands-on design, improving the design process, organisation and establishing a product vision. Part of my assignment was to help hire new designers that could continue to push the new brand and vision forward. 

​

Starting off there was as big piece of legacy to uncover. While backwards engineering the current app into a proper Figma setup, preparing for the big rebrand I worked with the development team to improve all recently developed features.

​

Having a proper structure and a complete overview of the app ment we could start applying the new branding to the design. I build prototypes to validate UX improvements and delivered hundreds of new UI designs. Soon the rebranding was live.

From here on we kept adding new features to the app every sprint. We moved in high pace from business strategy to product strategy and from UX design via UI design to development. 

​

Meanwhile the search for an experienced Senior Product Designer took place and we interviewed many candidates. Eventually we found the right fit and I prepared all lasts months work to be handed over and pushed forward.
